How a home business can get a £350 EV charger grant

We’ve found a way for some house owners to get the £350 government charge point grant…

Not sure if you know but, on the 31st March the government stopped ‘house owners’ from claiming their £350 home charging point grant, although people renting or who own an apartment still qualify.

Although, we’ve found a loophole, but shhhhh don’t tell everyone about it, as the government might get wind and put a stop to it like they do with every other loophole you find.

Hmmm, we can tell you’re excited about this, so here goes…

People who have a business (including sole traders) registered at home (which is on their incorporation or Vat certificate) can claim a £350 charge point grant towards the cost of installation.

Yes, it’s 100% true.

But it’s not through the home charging point grant scheme, it’s through the workplace charging scheme (WCS), which will allow you to install a charger at home and claim £350 towards the cost.

Amazingly, because you claim through the workplace charging scheme, you don’t even need to have an electric vehicle. In fact, you don’t need a vehicle at all, just designated off-road parking.

So, if this is you, our advice is to jump on this fast, as it’s only a matter of time before HMRC spot their mistake and close this loophole.
